Comment
This is just an observation regarding the “First gear at idle through the pits, rule”.
With all of the harping that we always seem to do regarding this issue….If you ever are in doubt about the correct speed to ride in the pits…..Just watch one of the ATV riders progressing to or from the track!!
If you want to do it right…..Do it like the ATV’s!! I have absolutely ALWAYS seen the ATV’s riding at the correct speed (walking pace) when moving in the pits. Way to go!!
REMINDER
Members are reminded that riders are required to attend the RACEDAY RIDERS MEETING that is held at 7:30AM before every race!!
Starting this week…..we will be randomly calling out several names to confirm your attendance. Showing up for the meeting would be easier than starting backwards…………..
See you at the meeting!
WOW….Another New Track ADDED to the Growing List!!
Keep them coming!! If there is one thing that Manitoba’s MX crowd wants….That would be more practice tracks!! The latest one to officially join our website is located near Winkler.
Remember the old days when it was Tuesday and Thursday at one track and Wednesday at another track?? Well NOW you can ride 7 days per week in almost any corner of the province.
If you haven’t had time to check the Track Info page…..CLICK HERE
If you and your track want to be added onto our site..send info HERE.

DMC race in Larimore, ND Saturday May 17th
Return your transponder or pay a $50 fine.
If you forget to return your transponder and don’t make arrangements to get it back to me by Thursday (in time to be charged for the next race), you will pay a $50 fine. This will have to be paid before you race again. This is not up for negotiation so please remember to return your transponder………it is YOUR responsibility. I will not track you down and beg for it’s return. Next step? Everyone puts a $100 deposit down at every race which will only be returned when you return your transponder.

Spring/Fall Series: Slight Change
Slight change on the race schedule, to be noted as follows:
The July 6th race in Grunthal will now be the last race of the Spring Series for 2008. This was simply done to balance the schedule to 8 Spring and 8 Fall races……… rather than 7 & 9.
Waiver
From now on, at all CMRC sanctioned events(this means all MMA races), you will be required to sign a waiver at the gate when you arrive at the track. This applies to everyone - riders, parents, spectators, staff, etc. The signing of this waiver is MANDATORY but it does NOT give you permission to go on the track. All riders must still sign a waiver when they sign in, same as always.
New Practice Track in Teulon

RACE DATE CHANGES
The Brokenhead MX Club of Beausejour will no longer be racing or practicing on the CPTC grounds in Beausejour. There is no need to contact the MMA or the Mayor of Beausejour. It is a done deal. The June 22 race date will now be a rain date. We will be racing at Baldur Raceways on July 13 and Sept 14. If you would like more information like directions or practice days please give Mike a call at 204-746-4793. As always check this site often for any race date changes.

Consider This Your Warning
All in all…… things ran very smooth over the weekend at our first 2008 race….I’m sure that everyone forgot at least one or two things like a BBQ lighter or a broom or a hitch pin??
Over the winter, several riders FORGOT?? that the MMA will not tolerate unsafe operation of vehicles (read: race bikes)
First gear at idle!! Does not mean first gear whipping through the pits! It also does NOT mean putting your girlfriend on the back and returning to your pit area or wheelies or……!
Remember the rule book states that you push your bike to and from the track!!! The MMA has authorized the “First gear at idle” rule to be allowed if it is used safely and properly. If you want to test us on this rule…..at MINIMUM….You’ll be starting backwards for your next moto, which could include the following week if you’re caught on your last moto of the day!! There will be no begging, bribing, whining or pleading ….if you’re caught….you’re starting backwards!
One More Reminder
“Quiet” generators are and will be allowed to run overnight to provide for some of the comforts of your home while ruffin’ it at the various tracks around the province. Please use good judgment when self-describing your generator as a quiet one!
Thanks……..
Wanna save yourself some $$??
Then don’t forget to pre-register your race entry before Friday at noon in the week before the race!! $10 extra per class if you’re not pre-registered!

Please take a minute to read and remember these business’ …..when it comes time for you to spend some of your hard earned “green stuff” throughout the year. Thanks………
2008 Raceday Schedule
There have been some changes to the raceday schedule for 2008. Please take a look so you’ll be “in the know”!
2008 Raceday Schedule
**Of course, this is subject to change so please make sure you always check the actual schedule on raceday.**
Reminder
This is just a reminder to all members regarding some of the rules that the MMA has adopted, over time, and which will supersede over the CMRC rulebook.
1) A different eligible bike CAN be used in each moto as long as it meets the class criteria. Any bike switching must be reported to the Technical Director as well as any bike number changes as a result. (Note should be taken if it’s a different brand for contingency purposes.)
2) Neck protection is required for all mini riders (85cc class and smaller). This can be anything from a foam style neck roll up to a “Leatt” styled neck brace.
3) Riders will NOT be allowed to wear “Hoodies” while riding on the track.
4) Yellow AND/OR red cross flags mean: NO JUMPING vs no double jumping.
5) Pit riding to and from the track area only, is allowed. FIRST GEAR at IDLE. NO EXCEPTIONS! PENALTIES WILL BE ENFORCED! In a sentence: Careless operation of any motor vehicle will NOT be tolerated! This will include: wheelies, multiple passengers, excessive speed….you get the idea. Lets have fun and play safe!
6) The following is in the rule book and is just FYI:The following offence will be subject to disciplinary action by the Referee and/or the CMRC. This is provided as guidance to licensed competitors but does not restrict the CMRC from invoking penalties for other actions detrimental to the sport which are not specifically contemplated herein.
-Engaging in any unfair practice, misbehavior or action detrimental to the sport of motorcycling in general, whether or not related to a specific competition. This also pertains to mechanics and all pit crew members, which are the responsibility of the rider for the duration of the event (defined as the time of arrival to time of departure from the site).
Reminder: For the 2008 Season….
**125, 250 and GP are now MX2, MX1 and MX3…in that order.
**65cc A and B are now 65cc 7-9(red on white) and 65cc 10-11(black on white).
**Pre-register online in the week before each race. If you don’t pre-register, it’s $10/CLASS extra at the track. Deadline is noon Friday…no exceptions.
**DO NOT pre-register for all races in the beginning of the year as they will not be accepted. Pre-register for each race in the week before that race.
**Print off the confirmation page, it’s your proof. If you say you pre-registered but don’t have proof and it didn’t go through, you’ll be charged the $10/class extra.
**You are required to run your CMRC assigned bike number and the proper colored number plates. Those who refuse to comply could be publically humiliated/tarred & feathered not scored or penalized.
Now get your bikes out and start practicing…….MX season is upon us!!!!!!!!!!!
